Backed up by more than 6,000 gamefowl breeders nationwide, the 2017 edition of “FIGBA National Bakbakan 12–Stag Derby” roared to a big start last Tuesday, Oct. 10 at Candon Coliseum in Ilocos Sur.

Organized by International Federation of Gamefowl Breeders Associations (FIGBA), ‘Bakbakan’ offers a princely prize of P75 million this year, the biggest in its 17–year history.

FIGBA president Ricoy Palmares Jr. reminds participants to get ready for the upcoming 3–stag elims in the provinces.

The schedules this month: Oct. 19 (UNIGBA), Oct. 23(GBAP), Oct, 25 (BBC, MMGBA and GBONE), Oct. 27(GBAP, BBC and LAGBA), Oct. 28 (CVGBA, BBC, UMIGBA, CVBA and ZGBA), Oct. 29 (BIGBA), Oct 30 (UCBA and MIGBA) and Oct 31 (CGBA).

BAKBAKAN 2017 is co-presented by Thunderbird The Winning Formula and B-MEG Integra Power Maxx in cooperation with Excellence Poultry & Livestock Specialists, LDI, Hagibis, Salto, Vitarich Titan, Vio-Plus, Pit Fighter and Mad Science.

Grand finals will be held Dec. 14 and 16 at the Roligon Mega Cockpit.
